Ribbon Cutting and Open House for ccpl2go

ccpl2go – Carmel Clay Public Library’s New Mobile Library!

You may have seen the Carmel Library’s new mobile library make its debut at the Carmelfest Parade, and it will soon be making regular stops throughout Clay Township. Join us for a ribbon-cutting to celebrate this new service from your public library on Thursday, July 30 at 3:30 p.m. at the library, 55 Fourth Avenue SE.

The community is also invited to the mobile library’s open house, Saturday, August 1, noon – 2:00 p.m., on the circle in front of the library. Meet the staff, take a tour, and of course, browse the collection. Anyone checking out materials at the open house will receive a special limited edition, reusable bag!

Known as ccpl2go, the vehicle’s purpose is to extend the library’s reach beyond the physical building, and to enhance the library’s accessibility throughout the community. The mobile library will make stops at community events, parks, daycares, senior centers, neighborhoods and many other places, making access more convenient for many.

Patrons will be able to register for a library card, check out popular books, DVDs, Blu-rays and audiobooks, and return any Carmel Library materials. Information about library programs and services will be available on the vehicle as well.

A weekly schedule of stops will be established. This schedule will change periodically to accommodate the school year, summer months, holidays, and seasonal events.
